ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart Los Angeles for your flight to Florence

Day 2: Arrival to Florence Airport and transfer to your hotel
Villa delle Rosa, where you will be stay for the next 7-nights in Pescia near Montecatini. The hotel is located about 3 miles from Montecatini center and 1 mile from Pescia. The town is in a wonderful area at the foot of the Abetone Mountains, alongside the Pescia River.

Afternoon at leisure time to relax or enjoy a pleasant walk with the possibility to go to Montecatini by private bus. Enjoy a three course Dinner at your hotel in Pescia.

Day 3: Full day excursion to Lucca: After your buffet breakfast depart by private motorcoach to Lucca, Half day guided tour of the city to see the famous walls built in the 16 century and St. Michael church with its beautiful facade and square, St. Martin church in Pisan Romanesque style, the Giacomo Puccini house, Via Fillungo and the Roman amphitheater and St. Ferdiano church with its wonderful mosaics facade. Lunch (lunch on your own), individual visits and shopping, Roman Theatre and the Etruscan Walls. Time at leisure, (Lunch on your own), Breakfast & Dinner at your hotel in Pescia. 

Day 4: Day at Leisure: A chance to explore the surrounding countryside at your leisure.  OPTIONAL TOUR Optional Full day tour to Rome, including the Vatican & Sistine Chapel, (require minimum 20).  Breakfast & Dinner at your hotel in Pescia. 

Day 5: A full day excursions to Florence: After breakfast depart for Florence. On arrival in Florence meet your step-on  guide to visit the famous Accademia Art Gallery which was founded in 1563 and was the first school in Europe to teach the techniques of drawing, painting and sculpture. The highlights of the museum are Michelangelo’s works including the colossal David and the Four Prisoners.

Then you will discover the city with the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Lily Flower, considered one of the most impressive examples of Italian Gothic, the Campanili, also called Giotto Bell Tower and the baptistery with the 'Gate of Paradise' by Ghiberti. We will continue with a glance at the Uffizi Palace and the well-known Ponte Vecchio (old bridge). The last stop of our tour will be the Holy Cross Church considered the Pantheon of Florence, with its monumental tombs of famous artists such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, etc, Lunch (lunch on your own), individual, visits and shopping, Breakfast & Dinner at your hotel in Pescia.

Day 6: Full day excursion to Siena and the Chianti wine road: Depart to Siena which according to the tradition was founded by Senus, Remus’s son.  Remo was one of the legendary founders of Rome with his twin brother Romolo. We will admire the famous Piazza del Campo where the famous Paljo takes place twice a year. Then we will see the public palace with the Mangia Tower, which is one of the highest medieval Italian towers.

We will visit the famous cathedral, which contains among its treasures masterpieces by Nicola Pisano, Donatello and Michelangelo and frescos by Pinturiccrio. We will discover the story of St. Catherine from Siena whose relics are preserved in the church of St.. Dominique, Lunch (lunch on your own).
 
In the afternoon we will drive through the famous Chianti wine road, we will stop at a typical farm for wine and olive oil tasting and to admire one of the most beautiful sunsets in the heart of the Chianti Hills. Breakfast & Dinner at your hotel in Pescia.

Day 7: Full day excursion to Volterra and San Gimignano: Depart for Volterra by bus and visit this beautiful Etruscan’s town whose ancient walls still exist. Visit the Guarnacci Museum, which houses one of the main Etruscan collections of Italy. Discover the historical downtown with the Priori Palace and the Duomo. Lunch (lunch on your own).

Continue to San Gimignano one of the most charming towns in the heart of the region, rich in works of art, good shops and restaurants. We will visit the ancient medieval center with its beautiful squares and narrow streets, the People Palace, the Duomo and the Collegiata. The Collegiata is a 12th century Romanesque church completely frescoed by Famous Italian Artists such as the Ghirlandaio, Lippo Memmi, Bartolo di Fredi and Taddeo di Bartolo. Walk to the castle's ruins in the historical center to admire the breathtaking view on the hills and the vineyards, Time at leisure. Breakfast & Dinner at your hotel in Pescia.
 
Day 8: Half-day excursion to Pisa: Today we visit the Piazza dei Miracoli to see the famous Leaning Tower, the Duomo and the Baptistery, with free time for shopping. Continue to the coast to admire the sandy beaches and the renowed Village of Viareggio where the international jet set used to spend their holidays. Time at leisure, (Lunch on your own), Breakfast & Dinner at your hotel in Pescia

Day 9: Transfer to the airport for the flight  home.
